Two-component Spray Gun Clogging or Nozzle Blockage

There are many reasons for gun clogging or nozzle blockage in two-component sprayed marking lines, mainly including:

Reason A:      Untimely and incomplete cleaning of equipment leads to curing and gun clogging

Solution: For external mixing gun equipment, all pipelines must be thoroughly cleaned after construction, and the cleaning agents for Material A and Material B must be stored in separate barrels

If the internal mixing gun equipment stops working for 2 minutes during construction, the internal mixing spray gun must be cleaned immediately. After construction, all pipelines for Material A and Material B must be thoroughly cleaned, and the cleaning agents for Material A and Material B must be stored in separate barrels

Reason B:     The agitator is not cleaned properly, and small hard lumps formed after the coating remaining on the agitator dries out cause gun clogging

Solution: After mixing the coating, the stirring blades must be thoroughly cleaned by rotating at high speed in the cleaning fluid, and the stirring rod must also be cleaned with a brush.

Reason C:     Impurities in the coating cause gun clogging

Solution: Filter the coating again with an 80-mesh filter screen or replace the coating, and check and replace the filter screen.

Reason D:    Splash and cross-contamination of materials during mixing also cause small lumps to clog the gun

Solution: If Material A splashes into Material B or Material B splashes into Material A during mixing, it will cause curing and caking in the barrel, leading to gun clogging. During mixing, Material A and Material B should be placed far apart or the barrel lids should be covered to prevent splash and cross-contamination.

Reason E:     The coating has sedimentation after being stored for too long, and use without stirring or incomplete stirring causes gun clogging

Solution: Add 2%-4% curing agent to Material B and stir for 3-5 minutes; Material A does not need curing agent and can be used directly after stirring for 3-5 minutes. If it is aged coating, the stirring time should be extended. Stirring skills: Please refer to the video

Reason F:     Poor coating quality, insufficient fineness and oversized particles

Solution: Choose a good coating supplier. It is best to take one set of coating from each coating factory for testing before construction to avoid various problems during construction, such as work stoppage and delay, which will affect the construction period and cause economic losses.

Reason G:    The curing agent is not fully stirred, or paste curing agent crystallizes and powder curing agent cakes, making it impossible to stir evenly, resulting in gun clogging

Solution: Paste curing agent has fire-proof protective fluid on the surface, which will crystallize as the temperature drops, leading to uneven stirring and gun clogging. Therefore, the protective fluid layer on the paste curing agent must be scraped off;

If the powder curing agent cakes, it must be completely crushed into powder before use, and stirred evenly.

Reason H:    Accidentally spilling glass beads into the coating barrel when adding them causes gun clogging

Solution: When adding glass beads, be sure to use a cover to prevent spilling into the coating barrel. The edge of the glass bead tank must also be cleaned before covering the lid to avoid residual glass beads being blown into the coating barrel by wind, which will cause gun clogging.

Reason I:      Damaged filter screen fails to filter, causing gun clogging

Solution: Regularly check whether the filter screens at the suction pipe head and inside the filter are damaged, and replace them in a timely manner to avoid poor filtration leading to gun clogging and affecting the construction progress.

Reason J:    Too small nozzle flow rate causes gun clogging

Solution: Select a nozzle with appropriate flow rate
